BULLETIN ANNOUNCEMENTS:
During our journey through this season of Lent, we explore the spiritual book, Embers. "One Ojibway's Meditations" by Richard Wagamese, are everyday reflections as he examines the various manifestations of grief, joy, recovery, beauty, gratitude, physicality and spirituality. In his words, "Life sometimes is hard. There are challenges. There are difficulties. There is pain. As a younger man I sought to avoid them and only ever caused myself more of the same. These days I choose to face life head on—and I have become a comet.” Our UCW Spring Book, Bake and Craft Sale is nearly here—mark your calendars for Saturday, March 16, between 9:00 am and 12:30 pm. We are currently looking for volunteers who could help put up flyers, set up Friday morning (March 15) between 9 am and 11 am, 2 volunteers on Saturday starting at 8:30 am to help at tables during the sale, and 4 or 5 volunteers at the end of the sale to put away tables, help move boxes back into storage areas and put books away. Donations of baking, books, new knit, crochet, sewn and handicraft items would be appreciated. You can drop off items Tuesday March 12 & 14 from 1 pm to 3 pm, or Friday March 15 between 9 am and 3 pm. Baking can also be dropped off the morning of the sale before opening. JANUARY 2024 Happy New Year! As we walk into a brand new year we continue to celebrate 100 years as a community church. To mark the occasion, and to celebrate the hard work of the first families in Valois who are responsible for this church's beginnings, a short 20 minute video has been created. If you would like to learn how it all started, click HERE to view the video. |
A LOOK TO THE PAST: Historic Photos from 1954 of the construction of Valois United Sanctuary have been shared by Steven Shephard, who grew up next door to the construction.
